How to connect the terminals of the EC new fan and the new fan?

02/22/2024

In the previous article, we learned about the wiring of the old fan. Now let's take a look at the differences of the new fan and how to wire it?

In the previous article, we talked about that the input port and output port of the old model are separated, and the input end is divided into analog input and digital input. The biggest difference between the new model and the old model is that the new model combines the input and output settings together. There are three IO ports, namely IO1, IO2 and IO3. I represents input (IN) and O represents output (OUT). So what are the specific functions of these three IO ports?

First of all, the functions of the three IO ports can be freely configured through the EC-Control software or through the protocol. For specific configurable options, please refer to the table below. Each IO port has its default factory settings. IO1 is configured as a digital input by default, which can control the start and stop of the fan. IO2 is configured as a voltage analog input by default, which is an interface for 0-10V or PWM speed regulation. IO3 is configured as a voltage analog output by default, which is used to indicate the current modulation level of the fan.

In addition to the three IO ports, it is also equipped with a voltage output port to power external devices. The voltage can be set from DC 3.3V to 24V, and the default is 10V.

In addition, the RS485 interface has been changed from the original one set to two sets, making it easier for users to connect hand in hand during group control. The original set of normally open and normally closed contacts has also been changed to a set of normally closed contacts.

In addition, the new model also adds an alarm indicator light on the motor base, so that the operating status of the fan can be judged with the naked eye.

Overall, the new model has fewer wiring ports, but its functions are more complete.
