How to wire and configure software during communication debugging of EC fan 485?
02/02/2024How to wire and configure the software when debugging the RS485 communication of the EBM fan?
Let's take this R3G355-RG56-01 as an example. In the wiring part, we need to connect two sets of wires. One set is a three-phase power line to ensure that the fan is powered on and running during the debugging process. The other set is an RS485 communication line which needs to be connected to our computer using a serial port converter.
After connecting the fan, we first right-click Windows to open the device manager to check our port number. Then We find the port column and find the USB serial Port. The port number behind it is COM3. Here we Mark a note of it. Then open the EC control software and enter your username and password. Then, we first need to configure the interface, click the option Computer and Interface, click Add, select RS232 as the type, and click the search button for the address; you can search for COM3, which corresponds to the port number in the device manager we just looked at.
As for the bus system, we have to follow the fan protocol. This fan is MODBUS, so we select MODBUS and click OK. Then we configure the fan, click on the configuration assistant, click on the small size Fab, select I connected a single fan, continue, click to start the search, you can search for a fan with the address "1", the protocol is MODBUS, and the interface port number is COM3 . We select it, click Continue, Save, Finish.
You can see that there is a fan logo here, and the icon is green, which means that the fan communication is now normal. We double-click it to enter the fan setting interface. In the setting interface we can change some of its parameters and read some of its data.
