How to Select a Fan or Blower?
02/02/2024First, we need to clarify the purpose of the fan. Is the fan used for ventilation, air purification, heat dissipation or other special purposes? Different uses require different types and sizes of fans.
Key factors to consider when choosing the right fan:
1. Operating point, i.e. how much airflow needs to be output at a specific pressure. Airflow is generally expressed in cubic meters per hour (m³/h) or cubic feet per minute (CFM); static pressure is the air resistance that the fan needs to overcome and is generally expressed in Pascals (Pa) or inches of water column (inH2O).
2. Noise: sound pressure level or sound power level can not exceed (need to be lower than) the specific decibel.
3. Working voltage and frequency: ordinary DC voltage (12V/24V/48V); ordinary AC voltage (220V/380V), 50/60Hz.
4. Installation conditions: such as the size of the installation space and the installation method (rotor down/rotor up/shaft level).
5. Fan type: axial flow type, forward centrifugal type, reverse centrifugal type, mixed flow type, constant flow type, with worm shell type, etc.
6. Fan function requirements: speed output, alarm function, speed regulation function, over-temperature protection, stall protection, polarity protection, 485 communication, etc.
7. Use of environmental requirements: different use of the environment should be considered IP protection level, salt spray protection level, operating temperature.
8. Brand and quality: choose the fan from the following brands
